Ralph Alpízar
Periodista y Escritor. Licenciado en Comunicación Social, Doctorado en Historia y Postdoctorado en Antropología; especializado en las culturas Afroamericanas de orígenes Bakongo, y mas específicamente en la tradición religiosa Afrocubana del Palo Monte Mayombe, sobre las que ha realizado varias publicaciones en diferentes países y dirigido/producido varios documentales.
Fundador del Cabildo Nuevo Maiombe, dedicado al estudio y enseñanza del Mayombe Tradicional de Vueltabajo. Director y Editor de Ediciones Maiombe. Presidente de la Asociación de Cultura Tradicional Bantú (A.C.T.B) y miembro de la Asociación Española de Africanistas.
Ralph Alpizar
Journalist and writer. Bachelor of Social Communications, Ph. D. in history and post doctoral in anthropology; specialized in Afroamerican culture of Bakongo origin, and more specifically in the Afrocuban religious tradition of Palo Monte Mayombe, of which he has written several publications in different countries and directed/produced several documentaries.
Founder of the New Maiombe Council, he is dedicated to the studies and teachings of Traditional Mayombe of Vueltabajo. Director and editor of the Maiombe editions. President of the Cultural Association of Bantu Tradition and member of the Spanish Association of Afrikaners.
Juan Valdiris (Barranquilla. Colombia. 1977). Estudioso y practicante de las manifestaciones religiosas afrocubanas. Iniciado en Palo Monte Mayombe en la Rama Briyumba Congo desde hace 20 años e Iniciado en la Rama Mayombe en el Nsó-Nganga Ngando Batalla hace 6 años, con el nombre de: Tata Nkisi Malongo Cogollo-Nuevo Ngando Batalla Mayombe; Hijo de Oggún consagrado como babalosha desde hace 12 años, en La Habana, Cuba. En mis años de iniciación en las tradiciones afrocubanas, he viajado en varias oportunidades a Cuba para aprender de primera mano todo lo relacionado al Palo Monte Mayombe en sus diferentes variantes y específicamente el Mayombe de Vueltabajo y la Regla de Osha, donde he tenido la oportunidad de participar ceremonias afrocubanas y recorrer los más Importantes Cabildos de Nación Congo de la Isla, así como intercambiar saberes con los más prestigiosos sacerdotes de estas religiones ancestrales.
Licenciado en Administración: Mención Recursos Materiales y Financieros. Exdirector Regional en Guarenas, Venezuela, de la Asociación de Cultural Tradicional Bantú (A.C.T.B.). Miembro Fundador del Cabildo Nuevo Maiombe.
Juan Valdiris (Barranquilla, Colombia. 1977). Studious and active practitioner of the afrocuban religious manifestations. Initiated in Palo Monte Mayombe within the branch of Briyumba Congo 20 years ago and initiated in Mayombe Branch at the Nso- Nganga Ngando Batalla six years ago. With the name: Tata Nkisi Malongo Cogollo-Nuevo Ngando Batalla Mayombe; he is a son of Oggun consecrated as babalosha 12 years ago in Havana, Cuba. During my early years of initiation within the afrocuban traditions, he has traveled several times to Cuba to learn first hand everything related to Palo Monte Mayombe in its different variables and more specifically Vueltabajo Mayombe and the Osha rule, where I have had the opportunity to participate in different afrocuban ceremonies and being able to tour around the most important Councils of Congo Nation of the island, as well as exchanging knowledge with the most prestigious priests of religious ancestry.
He holds a bachelors in Administration: Mention material and financial resources. Former regional director in Guarenas, Venezuela, of the Cultural Association of Bantu Tradition (ACTB, by its acronym in Spanish). Founding member of the New Mayombe Council.
